Flame of the Forest is a medium-sized, deciduous tree, growing up to 15 m tall, it is a slow growing tree. The leaves are pinnate, up to 16 cm petiole and three leaflets, each leaflet up to 20 cm long. The flowers are fire flame like orange-red about 2.5 cm long.
