The cineraria plant can be both a sub-shrub and herbaceous plant. Cineraria naturally occurs in Madagascar and in the tropics of Africa. In indoor floriculture only cineraria cruenta, or cineraria hybrida, is used, although in reality it is a hybrid senecio.
